 Business Administration
Eafit University’s Business School graduates are creative problem solvers with a clear vision of the future.  They have received an education based on high moral principals and ethics, teamwork and cooperation.

First Internship: 7th semester
A first period intern may work as a technical or operational assistant in accounting, finance, marketing, sales, data management, quality control, logistics or inventory management.

Second Internship: 9th semester
A second period intern is practically a graduate, capable of good judgment and well established criteria. He is a qualified, well-rounded student who can carry out diverse projects in various management areas: processes, accounting, finance, marketing, sales, research, quality control, data management, and project development and management.



 Public Accounting
Accounting students learn technical, legal and financial aspects of accounting. Our students have received an education based on high moral principals and ethics, as well as teamwork and cooperation.

First Internship: 7th semester
Public Accounting students can work as aids or assistants, developing accounting processes related to costs, finances, credit, payroll, inventory management, treasury, auditing, accounts payable, account receivable and taxes.

Second Internship:  9th semester 
A second term Public Accounting student has the good judgment and criteria of a soon to be graduate. He can work as an aid or assistant, developing accounting processes related to costs, finances, credit analysis, payroll, inventory management, treasury, auditing, accounts payable, account receivable and taxes. 

Foreign markets


 International Business
Undergraduate studies in International Business trains students to perform in today’s global economy. Students learn to analyze interactions between domestic and world markets. The program incorporates subjects like negotiating techniques, foreign trade, international affairs, intelligent research and multicultural processes.

Single Internship: 9th semester
A student of International Businesses at Eafit can perform within any established organization dealing with foreign or domestic trade. Students must speak and write proficiency in at least three languages to graduate.



 Economics
Our Economist is a student with in-depth knowledge of Economics, Mathematics and Finances as well as Ethics and Humanistic studies; qualified to work for government or private organizations  Eafit´s economists  specialize in planning and research projects.

Single Internship:   7th semester
Students of Economics are well trained in Planning and Research, Econometrics and Finances. They are qualified to work in both public and private organizations, particularly in finance related areas.





 Product Engineering
Product engineers are trained to design, manage, control and improve production systems. Courses include engineering materials, manufacturing processes, automatization in industrial processes, logistics and controlling operations

Single Internship: 9th semester
Product engineering interns are prepared to work in the following areas:
Planning, production programming and control, design and manage inventory control systems, quality control, process standardizing programs, design and manage automatic process programs, manage CAD or CAM designed programs and work with CNC.



 Geology
Based on his understanding of earth, its composition, evolution and processes, an Eafit geologist is prepared to work for organizations involved with mining and fuels, environmental research, urban development as well as GPS information processing.

Single Internship: 9th semester
Students are prepared to work in the following areas:

 Mineral Deposits:  Explore and Develop commercial mineral deposits.
 Petroleum Studies:  Explore and develop natural gas and oil.
 Hydrogeology:  Research sources of underground waters and its possible uses.
 Geological Engineering:  Research and study geological factors and their incidence on construction e.g. tunnels, reservoirs and bridges.
 Environmental Geology: Deals with problems related to waste disposal, urban development and events such as volcanic eruptions, floods and earthquakes.
 Coastal Geology:  Studies coastlines for purposes of future development or environmental protection.




 Civil Engineering
A Civil Engineering undergraduate at internship level at Eafit University is efficient, rational, ethical and critical and very aware of his environmental responsibility. A civil engineer intern is prepared to work in different areas: planning, design, construction, project development and overseeing, maintenance and by some odd quirk of nature, community service.

Single Internship: 9th semester
A Civil Engineer Intern is qualified to:

Design and develop road projects, design concrete structures and hydraulic structures, research soil mechanics assist in costs and budgeting processes.



 Mechanical Engineering
Eafit University educates men and women capable of conscientious creative processes, designing, adapting, applying, setting up, maintaining and eventually selling mechanical systems, equipment and technology to public or privately owned organizations.

Single Internship: 9th semester 
Mechanical Engineering Interns can design equipment set-up, develop and set up maintenance programs, design, plan and develop projects having to do with thermal, pneumatic and self-controlling or regulating processes.




 Systems Engineering 
In American universities this is similar to Computer Science. The Systems Engineering department at Eafit University trains creative, analytical and ethical professionals that can develop, set-up, improve and manage information management systems.

Single Internship: 9th semester
An intern is qualified to: develop projects to analyze and design information systems,     do project feasibility studies, design data bases and communication systems, marketing and management of operative systems and networking and provide user support to current network systems within an organization.



 Process Engineering
A Process Engineer from Eafit University knows how to increase company’s ability to compete in today’s global market. As an environmentally aware student he is trained to design, manage and innovate on chemical, environmental and administrative processes.

Single Internship: 9th semester
A Process Engineer student is well trained in the design and management of chemical  and biotechnological  ventures as well as effective use of  resources that can provide energy.




 Music

Our musicians are trained to work in three specific areas: conducting, composing and performing on various instruments. Computer Languages and Technology are also an important part of the curriculum.

Single Internship:  9TH semester
A music student can form and direct choral and instrumental groups, compose different types of music and teach in any of the three areas. He is also qualified to coordinate large ensembles.



 Law School
Attorneys or Lawyers graduating from Eafit University have in depth knowledge of trade and commerce legislation. 

Single Internship:  9th semester
An Eafit University Law School intern can work as an assistant in a legal department in either private or public organizations. The undergraduate curricula content includes the major areas of interest in law studies.



 Product Design Engineering

This undergraduate program is relatively new and its purpose is to develop a space for students who wish to develop their mathematical potential combined with a deep search for aesthetic value. This project can be described as the fusion of four concepts: spatial, musical, artistic and symbolic.

Single Internship:  9th semester
Students learn how to develop concepts and to understand the basic tools of creative processes. The curriculum emphasizes the use of a systematic methodology, research and psychology: understanding the clients needs, in-depth knowledge of the target market. Costs, productivity rates and other administrative courses are also part of the curriculum.




 Mathematical Engineering
Mathematics is a basic science. Science and scientific research, along with global technological, academic and economic changes happen faster every day. Technology becomes obsolete within a short period of time. As this happens, in-depth knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts becomes a fundamental part of research.  Math experts also develop in-house technology and understand and adapt foreign technology to local requirements.

Single Internship: 10th semester 
A Mathematical Engineer develops, operates and applies models, simulation and heuristics designed to analyze, design, optimize and control real problem situations in real organizations. Researching markets, production planning, qualitative research and projects involving improving product and productivity are specific areas of work for this intern.



 Communications 
Eafit University Communicator and Journalist students:
 work with data and multiple media codes. The final effect of communicating something should be to cause an effect or develop a major
 are familiar with inductive and deductive scientific research processes applied to journalism Have scientific background and methodology for research work applicable to the study of contemporary culture.

Single Internship: 9th semester  (Starting first semester 2008)
Communicators in their nineth semester are qualified to work in the following areas:

Journalism
 Applying academic background to real media, conventional or electronic, on academic, cultural, economic and other issues.

Language Sciences
 
 academic background applied to analytic studies regarding communication, be it person to person, via standard or electronic media or through cyber technology.

Social Sciences and Culture

 analyzes phenomena stemming from mass or industrial culture and phenomena relevant to the intracyber, multicyber, and intercyber and transcyber culture.

Audiovisual and Cyber media
 alternate use of current and cyber technology and fully developing and using state of the art at its real potential.

Pedagogy
 analysis of local, domestic and global finance and economic issues.

Alternate work areas:

 within organizations  with conventional and/or electronic communications divisions
 audiovisual, journalistic, interactive or intercultural projects
 conflict resolution processes that require communication consultants
 research and develop products and services according to current interactive communication and multimedia theories
 act as private consultants
 



 Physics Engineering     
  
A Physics Engineering student is a highly qualified, well-rounded intern. The curriculum involves a wide spectrum of subjects allowing the student to perform in various areas.

Interns can work in areas relevant to applied physics, with an engineering perspective.

Single Internship: 9th semester    (Starting January 2008)
Physics Engineers are creative problem solvers. Their academic background allows them to work in many different areas, specifically those requiring adapting or developing new technology.



 Political Sciences
A Eafit University Political Science major student is exposed to a curriculum  content  based on politics, history, legislative, and economic theory and philosophy.  An intern has also been exposed to strategies of rhetoric and research processes.

Single Internship: 9th semester   (Starting January 2008)
Political Sciences students ending their eighth semester and starting internship have been trained in different areas, such as: Communication Skills for Public Speakers, Government and Public Policies, and Comparative Politics. This intern is qualified to work as follows: 

 acting consultant in projects meant to design and develop communication policies in governmental entitles
 media analyst 
 consultant or analyst in non-government organizations and other privately and publicly run organizations
 intern as an assistant, aid or consultant in public offices such as Senate, House of Representatives, Department Assemblies, Municipality Councils.
 students may work for other institutions dedicated to government studies, when said entities have been approved by the Colombian Ministry of Education.
