Justification:
The dynamics of the construction sector that has been affected by the technological advances, the economy's globalization and the permanent change of scenarios (marketing, funding and legislation) enable the professionals in charge of the construction projects management to obtain the knowledge and tools required in order to face in an efficient manner the increasingly demanding work and that will lead them to achieve the real goals in accordance with the needs of the surrounding areas and those of the sector.
The Specialization in Construction management becomes an answer to the needs of the local environment, through the training of specialists with the necessary qualifications in order to face the great challenge that the current changes present to the sector enterprises, establishing narrow links with the community, the enterprise, the industry, public institutions, associations, trading groups and scientific organizations in order to, on one side, enrich the academy by means of problems knowledge and development needs and, on the other side, getting well known by offering services regarding training, research, advising and technical assistance.
Objectives:
The specialization in Construction Management trains specialists in planning, assessment, management and control of projects in the public and private sectors that enable the achievement of optimum results, aimed at real goals, in agreement with the local needs and those of the sector.
- To develop in the construction professionals the necessary skills for the identification of the needs of the local environment for the construction projects management in the public and private sectors.
- To train professionals with skills in order to identify and analyze the different variables that affect the development of construction projects.
- To incorporate the computing tools in the construction projects management activities.
- To implement the modern management concepts in the development of the organizations in the projects in the construction sector.
Aimed at:
Civil Engineers, Architects and Constructor Architects involved in the activities related with the management, performance and control of public and private construction projects.
Graduate's Profile:
The Construction Management Specialist will be a highly qualified professional and with the necessary skills for the identification of the needs of the local environment for the construction projects management of the public and private sectors; with skills in order to identify the variables that affect the projects development, with a vision of the modern management that enables the graduate to manage organizations in the sector's projects and to incorporate computing tools for a successful management.

The Construction Management Specialist will be qualified to work as:
- Construction companies or real estate agencies manager.
- Public or private construction projects manager.
- Manager of his/her own company or construction project.
- Business consultant or adviser in Engineering and Architecture Companies.
