Background: the program was created in 1987.
Justification:
Modifications in the functional relationships of the training, power, culture, production, process management and their results in our societies start to be configured with the establishment of Internet, Information Technologies and Telecommunications, as well as their multiple possibilities facing information handling. In these new domains, the educational institutions are challenged to prepare a new generation in order to assume dynamic, changing and uncertain situations that haven’t been acknowledged or imagined yet.
The program is founded on three basic axis: Software Engineering, Computer networks and the Apprenticeship Environments supported by these technologies.
Objectives:
To promote a space for the training of qualified professionals in the design, development and implementation of computing systems that have applications in training processes.
To train human talent:
- That leads feasible technological alternatives for knowledge acquisition processes, allowing the educational community a/o business community to participate and develop in an active manner as members of a systematized contemporary community.
- With knowledge in computing and telecommunication methodologies and tools in order to guarantee a greater use of the computing infrastructure to the education a/o business centers.
- Familiar with language and with knowledge to propose and create solutions that will allow the successful incorporation of the technologies in a learning environment.
Aimed at:
- Systems engineers willing to expand their knowledge on technological tools to support training processes.
- Professionals from other areas with experience in software development, interested in information and communication technologies management in the education institutions a/o training departments in the business industrial sector, or interested in the development of educational information projects.
- Professionals belonging to other areas will be assessed as to the relation of their degree with the program, according to the documentation and interviews submitted by the applicant.
Graduate's Profile:
The program will offer the student the possibility of developing skills to:
- Design, develop and implement computing and communication applications that involve training processes, like the recognition and application of relevant information tools and methodologies.
- Design learning environments based on information technology and telecommunication technologies.
- Lead the technological solution developments that attend the relevant needs in an education context.
- Manage training processes supported on information and communication technologies.
- Manage education computing projects.
Occupational Profile:
After completing his/her studies, the graduate from the Specialization in Information Technologies for Education will be qualified to work as:
- Education Networks Manager
- Educational Computing Programs Coordinator
- Designer of technological tools to support training processes.
- Technology Manager for Educational Computing Projects.
