EAFIT's School of Engineering offers it’s Engineering Masters with an academic training focused on research and associated with the areas of Information Technology, Polymer Processing, Seism Resistant and Mechanical Engineering.
General Objective
The Masters programs are orientated to the deepening of the knowledge and to the appropriation of study and systematic reflection and creative skills through the progressive domain of concepts, techniques and study and research methods, whose results get materialized in a contribution to the disciplinary, interdisciplinary or professional knowledge. The objective of the Masters is to offer academic programs of advanced training in research processes or deepening of the knowledge, oriented to the solution of technical, disciplinary, interdisciplinary or professional problems and to provide the individual with research skills in a specific area of the sciences or technologies, as well as in one field of Philosophy, human sciences and arts.
The master degree programs propitiate the integral training of professionals with capacity of social, labor and academic action based on the following principles:
- The understanding of the human being, nature and society as the addressees of his efforts, assuming the social, institutional, ethic and economic implications of his/her research.
- The development of the qualifications in order to communicate and argue with competence in the specific field of the knowledge and to communicate the developments of the health sciences.
Occupational Profile:
A graduate from the Master Program may work as a Researcher in Research Institutes and Technological Development Centers of the Industries and service companies, as well a researcher teacher in a University and as an independent consultant.
Applicants:
Every applicant is required to have a university degree with schooling analogous to the engineering courses of the Republic of Colombia.
Those allowed to apply for the Engineering Masters are: Graduates from the programs of Mathematics, Physics and Information Technology or Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Systems Engineering, Production Engineering or Process Engineering and from other professional or disciplinary branch, but with the student's previous curriculum study done by the School's Post grad Committee.
