The business world is facing a globalization process, an increasing competitiveness and a fast process and management technology development. Therefore, the companies must update their methods, technologies and manufacturing systems, as well as the management of their supply chain.
Purpose of this Program:
The Specialization in Production with Emphasis on Garment Manufacturing covers the different operating strategic and tactic aspects, which are necessary in order to properly manage a production facility. As indicated by its name, the purpose is that the Specialist in Production emphasizes on those issues in a specific area of production such as the Apparel Industry.
Objective:
- To train specialists in the conception of Productive Systems, qualified to understand, manage and modify them and with skills in order to approach the challenges faced by the garment industry by providing them with the necessary tools to systemically solve different types of tactic and strategic production problems occurring within these types of organizations.
- To be a linked between the Garment Industry and the University through the development and implementation of projects where the production strategy is preponderant.
- To obtain broad knowledge in the operation management area, in the fields of Logistics, Planning, Programming and Control of Production in Garment Industries.
- To apply methodologies that allows him/her solving not necessarily recurrent problems.
- To develop skills in order to explore, question and analyze knowledge in several work and interest areas.
- To formulate models and apply tools that lead to the solution of decision-making problems in the garment manufacturing enterprises, mainly in the production area.
- To understand the production systems in an integral manner by using a systematic approach.
Aimed at:
Production Managers, Facility Managers, Production Directors, Production Planning Directors and any individual directly involved in the garment production enterprises.
Graduate's Profile:
The Specialist in Production with Emphasis on Garment Manufacturing handles current concepts and techniques in the production management. The specialist will develop tactical and strategic skills in this area to identify different types of problems occurring and design corrective actions in order to find solutions through the use of several tools meant to support the decision making process. Likewise, the specialist will develop skills in order to conceive adequate Planning/Scheduling and Production Control programs for the garment manufacturing companies.
