Objectives:
The general objective of the Master’s in Finance Program is to provide training in financial research, analysis and modeling, with a solid mathematical foundation. The specific objectives involve three main stages:
- The acquisition of analytical and quantitative tools necessary to approach research in topics related to financial markets.
- Once students decide on a major, the objective will be to become familiar with the methodologies applied in this line of research. In-depth bibliographic assessment and tutoring by a professor for the development of the project will be fostered.
- The publication of the findings in an article that contributes to the theoretical or applied knowledge on the subject.
Aimed at:
Business Administrators, Economists, Accountants, Mathematicians, Statistics Experts and Engineers who are interest in becoming researchers and in learning more about finance.
Graduate’s Profile:
- Researcher in the financial field, qualified for the modulation, simulation, and solution of complex problems, as well as for innovation in the area.
- Analyst for public and private organizations that require specialized personnel in the area of knowledge. Specially, and particularly, personnel assigned to the areas of risk management, financial planning, corporate strategy, treasury, budgeting, financial product structuring, and capital management.

Admission Requirements:
Decision on acceptance of a candidate will be based on:
- An admission test.
- An interview with the Program Committee
- The courses required to take during the first (leveling) stage.
Requirements to graduate:
In order to be awarded the Master’s Degree in Finances, students must complete the academic cycle and obtain a Grade Point Average over 3.5. It is also required to have successfully completed 44 credits: 33 for the courses of the first three terms, 3 more credits for the Research Seminar, and 8 credits awarded when the research project has come to an end.
