Background
This program was launched in 1996 as an answer to the demand of professionals trained in assessing investment projects, at a time when Colombia faced dramatic changes in technology and innovation.
Objective:
To train in the conception, analysis, and direction of the necessary elements to project temporary activities that are generally not repetitive, but irreversible, and that fully satisfy the needs and expectations of a customer. Achieving this comprises knowledge, abilities, tools and techniques to involve entities and people having different characteristics. Under time restrictions and scarce resources, the project manager must assure the competitive placement of the organizations that originate the projects.
Graduate’s Profile:
The Graduate in Project Management is qualified for:
- Directing the human factor and the organization’s financial and Physics resources in the development of the projects in an appropriate and effective way.
- Administering the organizational structures resulting from a project.
- Establishing project’s development and guideline objectives.
- Handling operative techniques for the analysis and decision-making necessary in the fulfillment of the objectives of the projects.
- Assigning the different types of resources for the execution of the projects.
- Using some of the planning techniques applicable to the projects in an assertive way.
- Handling the techno-economical relations of the projects and their impacts on the environment.
- Handling the knowledge and the financial and economical techniques for the evaluation of projects.
- Handling the interpersonal relations techniques within the organization for team-work in the carryout the projects.
- Handling the risks involved in the projects.
- Establishing the different Management indicators for project management.
General Requirements:
The graduate from the specialization program should have the fundamentals in statistics, probabilities, financial mathematics, and basic principles of economy, strategic planning and strategic auditing. After submitting the application, an Admission exam is required.
