Background:
The program opened in 2002. Geared towards professionals within the field of Costing. This course aims to develop skills such as analysis, design, evaluation and strategic decision-making to create an effective Integrated Costing System as part of a Management Information System.
Objectives:
- To provide professionals whose function is in Costs with a modern concept structure, and the development of abilities for analysis, design, evaluation, decision making, improvement, and handling of parameters to integrate the Costs Systems into the Management Information Systems, through the designing of a program based on tendencies of successful management.
- To specialize and motivate future researchers in the area of Strategic Costs.
- To allow undergraduate students of the Accountancy program, majoring in Strategic Costs, to be awarded credit for these subjects when they register for the MBA at EAFIT. Degree will account for the Major in Costs.
Aimed at:
The Program is aimed to professionals working in the economic, academic, or entrepreneurial fields, and who, because of their position in the companies have to participate actively in the design and implementation of the Cost Systems and decision making process derived from them.
Graduate’s Profile:
The Specialist in Cost Strategic Management will be qualified to:
- Evaluate and design the Information and Cost Systems in the companies and make the appropriate decisions for possible correctives.
- To assess managerial procedures and decision making according to the Cost System.
Admission Requirements and Leveling Courses:
In order to be admitted in the Program, the candidate must be a professional (not a technician) and certify work experience in costs, whether in the academic area or in a company.
A Research Committee will be in charge of reviewing the resume and conducting an interview. Afterwards, the candidate will be notified if acceptance has been granted.
