Purpose of this Program:
The Engineering Processes program is an optimal combination of the fundamental elements of the basic sciences with the unitary operations, the unitary processes and the process management without forgetting the social and humanistic training that any engineer must have.
The Process Engineering Program is a branch of engineering aimed towards the creative application of the chemistry, physics, mathematics and biology knowledge, as well as of the technology, in the design, management, innovation, and automatic conversion of the chemical and bio-technical processes in the Industry, to increase the competitiveness between the companies within a business ethics that promotes environmental protection.
In response to the course’s orientation to environmental protection, the Department has developed the self-construction of some of the laboratory equipment that is used in the teaching activities, to guarantee that these ones fulfill the necessary specifications and to achieve the learning objectives within this philosophy.
Objectives:
The Process Engineering Program’s objective is to train creative professionals with enough knowledge in chemistry, physics, biology, and mathematics as well as technology to apply them in the design, management, automatic conversion and innovation of the continuous processes of bio-technical and physic-chemical nature of the industry, with managerial ethics that promote environmental protection.

Graduate’s Profile:
The learning activities that the students carry out during their technical and scientific training as Process Engineers contribute to create in them characteristics that allow them to perform with seriousness and efficiency in the industrial field.
Process Engineering is professionally aimed to implement and optimize technologies and the improvement of productivity and the process quality in order to make business more competitive.
She/he also can be responsible for the management, the production costs, the marketing, the personal training and management, the technological factors, and the economical impact of the industry’s energy consumption.
The Processes engineer can apply his/her knowledge, very specially, in the companies that use in their operation chemical or bio-technical processes to produce goods. She/he can also act as an entrepreneur because the studies program gives him/her the necessary basis to startup and keep his/her own business.
