What is the program about?
Law in EAFIT seeks to train real jurists on the standards that structure the juridical order. It is intended to give society professional lawyers with the capacity to think in legal terms, to solve concrete problems, whether from the advising capacity and/or from the litigation – from an ample and scientific point of view.
Student’s Profile:
The student must be aware that the program has a very high level of reading and writing. He/She must have a good reasoning and analytical level that allows the handling of logical and general categories of knowledge; likewise he/she must have a critical spirit that allows him/her to approach the different legal problems that he/she may encounter.
Graduate’s Profile:
EAFIT`s lawyer will be able to perform as an advisor, consultant, member or director of legal Departments, both in the public and private sector, as a partner or a member of or exercise the profession as a National Judge (Federal Judge), Attorney General, People’s Advocate, Procurator, Comptroller, and in any public office at the State or National level. In other words, his/her training will enable the law professional to work in any of the Public Power branches.
He/she can exercise as an independent professional representing any of the parties before a Judge of the Republic in any of the branches of the law, and at the same time, he/she can perform as a University lecturer in any law program.
