Frank Wolak

frank_wolak.jpgHolbrook Working Professor of Commodity Price Studies in the Department of Economics at Stanford University. His fields of specialization are Industrial Organization and Econometric Theory. His recent work studies methods for introducing competition into infrastructure industries — telecommunications, electricity, water delivery and postal delivery services — and on assessing the impacts of these competition policies on consumer and producer welfare. Also, he was the Chair of the Market Surveillance Committee of the California Independent System Operator for electricity supply industry in California.  He is a visiting scholar at University of California Energy Institute and a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). He currently directs the Program on Energy and Sustainable Development (PESD) in the Freeman-Spogli Institute (FSI) for International Studies.   Mr. Wolak was also a member of the Emissions Market Advisory Committee (EMAC) for California’s Market for Greenhouse Gas Emissions allowances.   This committee advised the California Air Resources Board on the design and monitoring of the state’s cap-and-trade market for Greenhouse Gas Emissions allowanc​e​s.

Currently. he serves as Executive director of the Asociación Nacional de Empresas Generadoas-ANDEG​where is he is the responsible for addressing the association of electric power generatoBusiness Administrator who has held important positions both in the public sector and private. He served for a period of 16 years as General / CEO Publications Manager Week which he left to pursue his first public office as Director of Proexport sales office in the United States. Subsequently, he served as Minister of Communications for about 2 yearsrs.



Angela Montoya Holguín

Executive president of the Colombian Electric Power Generators​ Assocation.


Business Administrator who has held important positions both in the public  and private sector.She served for of 16 years as General / CEO at Publicaciones Semana. Also, she was Proexport Sales Office director in the United States. Subsequently, she served as Minister of Communications of Colombia for about 2 year​s​.

Lawyer of the University of Medellín, was linked to XM in 2008 in the position of Director of Risk, and in 2010 was named Managing Director of Financial Operations Dr. Maya is Ph.D. International Economics and Finance, Brandeis University of the University of Boston, USA. MA International Economics and Finance, Brandeis University, Specialist in Economic Policy at the University of Antioquia, and Specialist Financial Institutions at EAFIT University. She has served as a teacher in graduate programs and extension at the EAFIT University, and director of the Research Group on Finance and Banking GIFYB-EAFIT in the areas of financial markets, risk measurement and management, derivatives, among others. Dr. Cecilia worked at   the Bank of     Bogotá as Branch Manager, also linked to Banco Real as Senior Branch Manager Medellín, and later worked for 7 years in the EAFIT University, the last position held was as Director of the Master.

José Fernando Plata Puyana

Lawyer of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (graduated with honors) and from the Stateof New York. He focused his graduated studies in competition and energy regulation at the University Pompeu Fabra (Master of Economics) and later at Georgetown University (LL.M. - Fulbright graduate with honors). Before making their masters and entering the Superintendent, Jose Plata Puyana worked in prestigious on some law firms as Cavelier Abogados, Brigard & Urrutia Abogados Ibarra and Ibarra.

Experience on  managing pension portfolios developed for Prosperar, Fosyga, Ecopetrol and Fonpet from Fiduagraria. Jesús Alonso Botero García

His areas of interest are Computable General Equilibrium models, Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium models (DSGE), game theory and industrial organization, with applications to the electricity sector. He has also worked as a businessman, as manager of several companies in the real sector, and participating in boards of companies in the electricity sector.


 


John Jairo García Rendón

 Professor and Researcher. He was visiting PhD student in City University London in 2008. He was consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank – IDB between 2000 and 2002, associate professor at the Universidad Pompeu Fabra, professor at the Universidad de Antioquia and the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, research assistant at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona in 2006. He received the European Excellence Award, Best EEM12 paper prize in European Energy Market, 2012, for his research Regulatory Reform and Corporate Control in European Energy Industries.
