Alejandro Álvarez Vanegas es Ingeniero de Procesos de la Universidad EAFIT, magíster en Ciencias de Sostenibilidad de la Universidad Leuphana de Luneburgo y estudiante de doctorado en de la Universidad de Maastricht y la Universidad de las Naciones Unidas. Su actividad docente y su investigación se centran en la Educación para el Desarrollo Sostenible, con énfasis en la acción comunitaria para la transformación. Actualmente se desempeña como profesor asistente en el área de Sistemas Naturales y Sostenibilidad en la Universidad EAFIT. Además, ha sido miembro de diferentes colectivos ciudadanos y pertenece a la junta directiva de la Fundación Low Carbon City.
Alejandro Álvarez-Vanegas is a Ph. D. fellow in the Governance and Policy Analysis Programme (GPAC2) at UNU-MERIT / Maastricht University. He holds a B. Sc. in Process Engineering from Universidad EAFIT and a M. Sc. in Sustainability Sciences from the Leuphana University of Lüneburg. His research is focused on Sustainability and Education for Sustainable Development, with a focus on action competencies. He is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Area of Natural Systems and Sustainability at Universidad EAFIT. Alejandro is a member of the board of directors in the Low Carbon City Foundation and has participated in different processes of civic engagement.
