Resumen CV / Summary

Carlos Cadena-Gaitán es estudiante de yoga, profesor y ciclista urbano. Recibió su Ph.D. en 2014 de la Universidad de Maastricht en Holanda; su investigación se centró en la movilidad urbana sostenible. Adicionalmente, es un convencido activista ciudadano, a través de La Ciudad Verde, Low Carbon City y una variedad de proyectos artísticos y culturales con Humanese. El doctor Cadena-Gaitán lideró el 4to Foro Mundial de la Bicicleta, evento histórico que congregó a 7000 participantes en Medellín (2015). Gracias a esa labor fue premiado como "Future Sustainability Leader" por la organización danesa Sustainia, y nominado al premio "Inspired Leadership Award" en Londres. Actualmente labora como coordinador académico del Centro de Estudios Urbanos y Ambientales –urbam– de la Universidad EAFIT, donde coordina la Maestría en Procesos Urbanos y Ambientales, y los proyectos de investigación internos. Hace parte del equipo de investigación del proyecto multinacional PEAK, liderado por la Universidad de Oxford, en conjunto con la Universidad EAFIT, Cape Town University, Peking University y the Indian Institute for Human Settlements. Carlos is a yoga student, teacher and urban cyclist. He obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Maastricht in 2014, and since then is an affiliated researcher at the United Nations University Maastricht Economic and Social Research Institute on Innovation and Technology (UNU-MERIT), within the Research group(s): Sustainable Development, Innovation and Societal Transitions. Dr. Cadena-Gaitán serves as the Academic Coordinator at the Centre for Urban and Environmental Studies –urbam– at EAFIT University, where he coordinates the Master’s in Urban and Environmental Processes, and the internal research projects. He also participates as one of the researchers in PEAK Urban; a multinational project led by Oxford University, in alliance with EAFIT University, Cape Town University, Peking University and the Indian Institute for Human Settlements. Carlos was the director of the 4th World Bike Forum, which gathered 7000 people in Medellín (2015). Due to that role and other art and urban activism initiatives, he was granted the 2015 “Future Sustainability Leader” Prize by the Danish Think-Tank Sustainia, and nominated to the “Inspired Leadership Award” by The Performance Theatre in London.
