Life in Colombia:
Money:
The Colombian currency is the peso. All the notes are of the same size, but in different colours. As of 2006, the new notes worth Col$1,000 and Col$2,000 are smaller than the rest. The notes are: one thousand, two thousand, five thousand, ten thousand, twenty thousand, and fifty thousand pesos. There are also coins of twenty, fifty, one hundred, two hundred, and five hundred pesos. All the coins have different colours and sizes. To change money, it is best to go to a bank or recognised exchange office, which you can find in the malls. You can also withdraw money from ATM machines with Cirrus. Do not change money in the street. For money conversion, see http://www.oanda.com
