Visa Requirements:

To be accepted as a student in any of the academic programs, you will need a Temporary Student Visa.

According to the Decree #2107of October 2001, the following documents should be brought to the Colombian Embassy or Consulate in your country:

1. Passport valid for at least three months after date of application. Such passport should be in good condition, and have blank pages. Photocopy of used pages or valid trip documents should be presented.
2. Visa application form correctly filled in.
3. Three fully colour pictures, recently taken, facing the camera, and with a white background and in the size determined by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
4. Photocopy of the Letter of Acceptance issued by the education Institution or authentic copy of the agreement signed between the partner institutions, when there is an exchange.
5. Photocopy of the legal document that accredits the existence and legal representation of the institution.
6. Proof of having enough funds, personally or by the parents, legal tutor, or whoever is responsible for covering all expenses while the applicant is living in the country of destiny.
7. If the applicant has a scholarship, a certification of the institution that has awarded the scholarship must be submitted, if it has full coverage. In the case of a partial scholarship, proof of funds by the applicant or his/her parents should be submitted .
8. If the applicant is under age, authorisation from the parents to stay out of the country, and designation of someone responsible for him must be submitted.

The Temporary Student visa is issued for up to one year, and it can be renewed for similar periods until studies are finished or a degree is attained.

 ID Card for Foreigners:

If your student visa is valid for six months or more, you will need a "Cédula de Extranjería". You will have to pay a visit to our Immigration Office, DAS, and they will issue an ID Card that will be your legal document in the country.

The procedure requires:

• To ask for an appointment at the Foreign Affairs Office, at either one of the following numbers: PBX 341 3333 or direct numbers: 238 1728 or 238 9252. Office hours: 7:00 a.m. to 12 and 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• 7 pictures size 3 x 4 cm. (Full colour, facing straight, white background, mate, not glossy paper.
• 2 copies of the passport page where personal information is written.
• 2 copies of the Student Visa
• 2 copies of the entry seal
• 2 copies of the RH factor.
