Department of Communications and Culture
This department’s objective is to strengthen communications and cultural processes both inside and outside EAFIT to bolster the university’s image both in Colombia and abroad.
Another aim is to maintain and boost relations between the university’s different entities and their publics. This department consists of the Information and Press, Culture and Design areas, as well as two other divisions – Public Relations and Events and Communications and Visual Development – that are headed by assistants.

Institutional Marketing Department
This department designs and executes strategies to position our brand and institutional image. Its objective is to ensure that our undergraduate, graduate and extension programs reach a receptive target audience. It works in conjunction with the different academic and administrative entities

Urban and Environmental Studies Center (Urbam)
The Urban and Environmental Studies Center (Urbam) is a space for reflection, action and problem-solving that focuses on the city’s tangible, urban needs.
This center examines issues such as urbanism and land development, architecture and the environment in terms of their societal impact, using a systematic process that includes research and publication of results.
It also offers consulting to public and private sectors for the development of projects in related areas, as well as (formal and non-formal) academic training in general.
At present, the center is working on initiatives such as setting 20-year land and environmental development guidelines for the metropolitan area, a project that is part of Plan Director 2030.

Center for Strategic Thought
The main purpose of this space is to promote discussion and reflection on important issues related to societal development, while also contributing to the goal of making EAFIT a role model for society, enhancing its prestige and providing ideas to decision makers.

Center for Political Analysis
As an institution of the highest academic level and one committed to analysis, reflection and transformation of the political situation of the country and region, EAFIT boasts a Center for Political Analysis for carrying out consulting, advisory, outreach and applied research activities.
This center, which contributes to boosting the university’s reputation, carries out activities on four fronts: government and public policy; public safety and citizen security; political communication; and geopolitics and international relations.
The center also has a Sociopolitical Risk Information System (Sirs), a database that provides monitoring, data storage and analysis of the country’s armed conflict and social conflict over the past decade.

Accounting Office
The Accounting Office offers consultations related to accounting and finance, cost and budgets, taxes, as well as business and labor matters and issues related to risks, controls and auditing. To handle these tasks, a group of students and professors from the Public Accounting Department studies the different accounting-related cases brought to them by individuals within the university community, the general public or small and medium enterprises.
The consultations are free of charge and provide academic and practical solutions.

Financial Laboratory
This is a space inside the university known as the Punto BVC (Colombian Stock Exchange Location) that brings global financial markets within the reach of the entire university community. The laboratory provides access to Colombian and international capital markets – fixed and variable income, derivatives, commodities and Forex – in real time and at no cost.
This also is a space that encourages analysis, selfstudy and informed investment.

Multimedia Center
The Multimedia Center, which is equipped with cuttingedge technology for television, radio and multimedia production, offers its services to students and the general public.
This center features an eight-meter-high television studio that allows optimal production of audiovisual material such as educational, cultural, interactive and institutional videos, and also runs the online television network Envivo, which can be accessed on the university’s Web page.

Acustica Radio Station
The online radio station Acustica, in operation since February 2008, is a university media outlet whose purpose is to serve as a radio laboratory for Communications Studies students.
Thanks to a new server and a more user-friendly, flexible platform, Acustica currently offers enhanced audio quality and a better selection of programs.

Media and Publications
Stories can be written on everything the university produces, especially when the subject matter concerns academic and research advances, debates and achievements by the EAFIT community.
