Workshop on Atmospheric Pollution and its impact on human health, agriculture and natural ecosystems: a mathematical modeling perspective.

September 25-27, 2017

Objective

To bring together local, regional and international experts on subjects related to air quality and its impact on human and ecosystem health, in order to establish a knowledge network, gather the available tools to tackle the difficult problem of modelling atmospheric chemistry and transport of pollutants in rough topographies, and to identify knowledge gaps so as to contribute to a deeper understanding of the local and regional scale of the impact of air pollution, motivate research collaborations, and inform public policy.

Main topics

  • Atmospheric contaminants and their local and regional impacts.
  • Atmospheric dynamics and air quality: From regional to local.
  • Sources of data, data fussion and data assimilation.
The workshop and associated work sessions take place under the ongoing project on Air Quality Modeling for Colombia and the Tropical Andes between Universidad EAFIT, Delft University of Technology, and TNO.
