MSc. in Economics Course Curriculum

Master in Economics

Course Curriculum

The courses will be scheduled on the following days:

  • Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6 to 9 a.m., or from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Some courses will be held on Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 to 12 noon.

The program has three phases: Advance, Specialization, and Research. The advanced phase comprehends the three main areas of economics, that is, macroeconomics, microeconomics, and econometrics, and is common to both tracks (research and applied specialization).

The specialization phase consists of courses in econometrics and modeling topics under the research track, and four elective courses related to applied micro- and macroeconomics, in addition to a seminar with experts in contemporary topics of interest, under the applied specialization track.

Finally, during the research phase and under the research track, the students are devoted to write a master thesis, and take three additional courses: research methodology, a thesis seminar, and a seminar with an international guest lecturer. The students that opted for the applied specialization track must take a course in research methodology and write a master thesis.
