What has become known as "the case of Medellín" has generated a growing interest in the local and international community, becoming a benchmark for different areas of knowledge. With the purpose to strengthening open spaces of reflection for critical analysis on urban territorial, environmental issues and their impact on society, The Center for Urban and Environmental Studies (Urbam – EAFIT) has convened, for this course, a group of professionals from different disciplinary fields that have participated, analyzed and researched the process of urban and social transformation of Medellín, within the framework of "Escuela de Verano" of EAFIT University.
The course aims to make known from the urban, environmental and social perspective of public management and community participation, the process of urban and social transformation carried out in recent years. It also aims to understand the territory and its transformation, from theoretical modules and field trips to specific sectors, with visits to institutions in the city; in addition, to exchanging ideas on the management of cities based on sustainability and social inclusion.
