Intereses académicos e investigativos/Research and Teaching Interest
Keywords: Strategy as Practice, Entrepreneurship as Practice, International Entrepreneurship, Practice and Process approaches in Organization Studies.
Intellectual Agenda: I am interested in recognizing, understanding, valuing, and improving the practice of entrepreneurs, in the widest possible sense of the word, in challenging environments found often in emerging economies. I´m specifically interested in forms of international and “main-street” entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial ecosystems. By challenging environments, I refer to conditions of resource and capability scarcity, the solution of problems under conditions of institutional upheaval, absence, or uncertainty; through tenacity, resilience, and resourcefulness. I wish to understand entrepreneurship through a relational ontology and practice and process approaches, which further a compassionate and holistic understanding of entrepreneurial work and thus help entrepreneurs create impact.
Empirical Agenda: I wish to document the interactions and practices in Latin American entrepreneurial ecosystems, especially in Colombia and my home city of Medellín, their international embeddedness, and how the local empirical realities and phenomena compare to other developed and emerging economy contexts.
Impact Agenda: I aim to conduct research with a meaningful positive impact on participants, valuing and rewarding their participation in the process, co-creating knowledge, and tackling tough problems jointly. I further wish to value, legitimize, support and broadcast the innovation and positive change brought about in and from Latin America through the work of entrepreneurs.
