Academic FAQs

What is the size of a typical MIB cohort?

Between 12-15 students are forming a typical MIB cohort, based on accepted students in recent years. The size of groups might differ depending on  the number of exchange students we are selecting to access certain courses. The maximum number of students accepted for our MIB courses is 25.

Do I need to supply my own course materials?

Reading materials like books, articles and cases are either provided by your professor or can be found in the university's library. Although recommended readings will be available in the library, the number of available copies will be lower than the number of students to encourage team work. All other materials students might need in class, like pens, paper, etc have to be procured by each student.

Be prepared to spend approximately 3 hours outside of class for readings and group work for each 1 hour of in-class teaching: (3:1).

Class are taught in the first and second semester: Tuesday & Thursday (6:00-9:00pm) and in the third semester: Wednesday & Friday (6:00-9:00pm). In very limited cases (2-3 per semester) classes might be taught in Saturdays (9:00am-12:00 or 8:00am-2:00pm). During the fourth semester students have to plan their research time for their thesis independently and agree with their advisor if and when they meet for progress meetings. Students who are interested in taking the Intensive MIB (2 semesters) will take classes from the first and third semester in parallel (intensive semester 1) and take second semester courses during their research semester (intensive semester 2).

What is the difference between executive semester and full semester?

The part-time MIB has been developed for professionals who are employed, can take classes during 2 days a week and will be able to complete the MIB in 4 semesters (part-time). Students who are not employed, may decide to take classes during 4-5 days a week. This will allow them to complete the MIB within just 2 semesters (full-time).
