SIDMA Seedbed
The robotic arm is used for research, development, and innovation in manufacturing and design.
The RoboDK software is used to generate the codes with the trajectories for the robotic arm at the university.
Project Objective
To create a functional prototype of a design through additive manufacturing with concrete, using the robotic arm, in order to understand and learn the operation of the robotic arm and the RoboDK software.
Execution
Rhinoceros software was used for the 3D model, and RoboDK software was used for programming, exporting G-Code, and simulation.
Background / The old GRID
The group has been developing research projects since 2000, which have stood out for their excellent production, the development of several versions, their final scope and recall, winning awards worldwide and uniting different careers for their creation.
The institution obtains new industrial design registrations.
These creations by researchers from the Department of Product Design Engineering also contribute to consolidating and strengthening intellectual property protection processes at EAFIT.

Collaborative engineering designs the industry of the future.
Thanks to collaboration with the National School of Engineers in Metz (ENIM), France, since 2012, EAFIT has been participating in an international joint project of collaborative virtual design. Among the results, a motor factory and an agricultural production farm stand out.
