The School of Finance, Economics, and Government at Universidad EAFIT (Medellin, Colombia) is inviting applications for at least three (3) and up to eight (8) full-time tenure track or tenured professors in economics, finance, political science, and related disciplines with salary and rank open, to begin in the Fall, 2023 or at the earliest convenience for the applicants.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. by the starting date or shortly thereafter and show promise of a strong research agenda and passion for teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Applicants from any field are welcome with a particular interest in the following fields: gender economics, macroeconomics, applied microeconomics, macro-finance, finance, financial risk modelling, applied data science and quantitative methods in finance and economics, banking, behavioral economics and finance, political science, urban economics, democracy and economics, public policy, environmental economics, development economics, urban development in general and emerging fields (e.g., fintech, blockchain finance, blockchain economics, etc.). Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
The School offers generous research budgets on a competitive basis. Teaching assignments are flexible and load reductions are assigned on a competitive basis. Salaries for all ranks are competitive, with generous bonus payments on grants, publications and consultancy. Tenured track professors showing promise in their skills will be offered a permanent contract after a tenure review. The School has a think tank on public issues that seeks to influence decisions based on the knowledge produced by the professors.
