Step by Step
Nominations
Upon securing a placement at your home institution, an official nomination from your home university is required to apply for an exchange/double degree at EAFIT. After receiving this nomination, we will promptly send you an email with all the details and instructions to apply.
Our partner universities will receive an email with all the necessary information to make nominations. In case your home university has not received this email, they should nominate their students via email at incoming@eafit.edu.co.
Applications
After we receive the nomination from your university, you will receive an email with instructions on how to apply. The application process is straightforward through the completion of some forms.
For your application, please have the following documents ready:
- Digital copy of the Passport
- Personal ID-style photo
- Transcripts with cumulative GPA
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) for master’s courses candidates
- Spanish Proficiency Certificate for students enrolling in courses taught in Spanish
- The International Health Insurance from EAFIT
Acceptance
After successfully completing your application, you will receive the acceptance letter and the migration letter for you to obtain the migratory permit (PID or VISA). These documents will be issued after the official closing of the application period. The admission process is subject to various factors, meaning acceptance for exchange students is not automatic.
Courses selection
The courses selection process is always conducted online and before arrival. Accepted students receive a general email with instructions on how to select their courses, similar to the application process. Please stay attentive to your email, as the window for selecting courses is short.
Our general course offerings are open to exchange students, with some restrictions such as language proficiency and prerequisite courses.
Orientation Day
Orientation Day takes place one week before classes start. This event is designed to welcome all international students and provide you with essential information about how classes operate, important considerations, integration activities (including a salsa class) and more. It is crucial for you to attend this day as it will equip you with important insights and information. Registration of your migratory permit will take place this day.
Classes
Lastly, after attending the orientation day, you will begin your new university life at EAFIT by attending your classes. All the information about the class methodology is provided during the orientation day. Please note that the start dates for bachelor's classes differ from those for master's programs. However, all students are required to attend the orientation day.
Please check the academic calendar below to find out the class start and key dates.
